Shukrullah SHERZAD, 34 years old – Afghanistan: A job at FAO in South Pacific islands

I was graduated in 2012 of Master Food Identity and it has increased my knowledge on food development and marketing. More knowledge on local quality food production, food standards and business has obtained through this master. After graduation, I started working as agribusiness development team leader with DAI (Development Alternative Inc.) in the USAID development project called IDEA-NEW (focusing on domestic food production and business) in Afghanistan. For around 8 months, I worked as rural development lecturer with National Agriculture Education College (NAEC- Kabul, Afghanistan), my main subjects were food security, rural livelihoods and research.
From August 2014 ( to present), I am working with Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), as agribusiness and value chains expert for the 14 South Pacific Islands Countries. Our Sub regional office is based in Apia, Samoa. My main duties under this job are: designing and implementing food security, food nutrition, agribusiness, value chains and food marketing projects in the South Pacific 14 Islands Countries (with the General Manager of FAO in Samoa in 2017)
