Ecole Supérieure d’Agricultures d’Angers (France) In a few words ...

ESA is a higher education institution of research in agriculture, food science, territorial management and international markets.

It has 2,500 students, of whom nearly 900 are preparing for the French “ingénieur” degree (master 2) and it also receives 250 international students from 35 different nationalities each year.

ESA offers a comprehensive choice of courses for different levels (HND, Bachelor’s diplomas, the French “ingénieur” degree, Master’s degrees and PhD), different types of students and different learning modes (students or apprentices, continuing education, distance learning ).

The pedagogical approach associates field experience/case studies and the acquisition of scientific and technical fundamentals.

It builds on the scientific excellence of applied research, dedicated to students and professionals.

The multidisciplinary research units are invested in facing the challenges of tomorrow: ecologically intensive agriculture, agricultural shifts or food issues for the elderly, wine grape quality, sustainable viticulture.

This synergy between research, teaching programs and innovation goes hand in hand with changes and innovations in the development of sustainable farming systems and foods.

With its students’ internship periods, learning opportunities abroad, apprenticeship programs (apprenticeship contracts or short-term pre-professional contracts) and studies carried out by its lecturers- researchers, ESA is in permanent connection with companies (more than 2,000 partners) in order to match or even anticipate the evolutions and needs of the economic world.
